From Sydney we drove on to Kiama. We made some lovely stops on the Coast and discovered interesting places. For example Lake Illawara. Thanks to the low tide we could walk to a little island.
And there were very rocky places at the coast as well. The cliffs provided us with a great view.

Finally we arrived at Kiama. It is a really nice village and famous for its big blowholes. Unfortunatelly Kiama was totally overcrowded with tourists and we had some trouble to find a caravanpark... And next to the cold weather the dragon in the blowhole was asleep. It gave only blows of maybe 2 or 3 meters (on good days the blow can be up to 25m high). But there was a little blowhole just a little further away which was much more active!

Today we drove to Canberra which is the capital of Australia. It is quite an interesting place and due to its original planning has an interesting architecture. There are a lot of wide spaces and the streets are either straight or circular...

The new parlament house was a very interesting place where we could learn a lot about the history of Australia e.g. the apology to Australia's indigenous people and the stolen generation. There was also the original magna carta on display which is an interesting feature for every student of law.
In the later afternoon we drove through the embassy area. There is an infinite number of different embassies and everyone looks special in its own way...

Time is flying by... We just discovered that we have to return our Wicked Camper in Melbourne in two days. So we have no time for our planned hike to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. But we're looking forward to see Oli's parents in Melbourne. And we wish them a save flight. cu soon!

Hey guys!
We just drove Gotti and Felix to the airport and according to the Airport homepage they took off 10 minutes ago, so they should be there on time ;) Let's hope their flight in Singapore is on time :)
Now that you're in the south of Sydney I can't make any stupid comments anymore as I've never been there :) When are you flying to NZ? Are you flying into Auckland or Wellington or Christchurch? Have you even heard that there was a pretty bad earthquake a few months ago which destroyed all of Christchurch? :S
Wish you a pleasant last days of your tour and have fun in Melbourne! If you meet a couple called Jason and Andy (Andrea) tell them we said hi ;) They were on Perhentian Island with us and our neighbours for 10 days :)
Love, Carmen & Chris
Mampa
